MBL Minute: Our Mammal Brain And Earning Or Burning Trust
Episode Notes
A large part of our brain’s initial wiring
as a child is the result of some very
specialized brain cells that brain researchers
discovered in the mid 1990s called mirror
neurons. These mirror neurons are triggered within
our brain from an early age by observing
the pain or reward others
are experiencing. In effect we are able to feel the emotions
they are feeling. We catch the
feelings or mood of others.
Our actions are either earning or burning trust with those we seek to serve. It is five to seven times easier to burn trust than it is to earn trust. When we raise our walls we incur a trust tax. Relationship trust goes down, speed goes down and cost goes up. When we lower our walls we can earn a trust dividend. Relationship trust goes up, speed goes up and cost goes down.
