MBL Minute: Q and A Leaps Of Faith
This Q and A MBL Minute looks back to Episode 21, "Sherpa Guides" where Arthur Geringas and Phil Johnson review the importance of having a mentor with a proven methodology (a sherpa guide) and the necessity to lower ones walls and to sometimes take a leap of faith in the journey towards authentic leadership.
The development of authentic emotionally intelligent leadership requires a personal revolution in our way of being in the world. It requires the courage to accurately perceive our reality. We need to connect with our internal desire to achieve better results. To take action and in the process confront the fears, habits and perceptions that stand in our way. The ultimate battles we will fight are internal conflicts even though they may have been triggered by external events. The personal victories and the lessons learned will move us toward greater awareness and wisdom. We must decide to become who we truly are and recognize our inter-connectedness with each other. By resisting this journey and emotional labor that it will require we risk our greatest vulnerability as individuals and organizations. It is only by taking the leap of faith that personal revolution requires that we discover our greatest power and invulnerability.
