MBL Minute: Q and A What Is An Amygdala Hijack
Episode Notes
This Q and A MBL Minute looks back to Episode 11 "The Burden of Proof" where Arthur Geringas and Phil Johnson discuss what amygdala hijacks are and how they affect workplace engagement.
Phil Johnson and Arthur Geringas discuss the small area in the brain called the amygdala which is thought to be a part of the limbic system and plays a part in the processing of emotions. The conversation expands to the amygdala's effects on our behaviour. Every time a change moves us out of our comfort zone we feel discomfort. Usually this takes the form increased fear or anxiety which often presents itself as anger. We see the unfortunate results of these hijacks every day.
