MBL Minute: Sand Wasps and Habits

Episode Notes

There will be an ongoing battle within us, between our old and the new habits. Our existing habits, beliefs and behaviors will fight to maintain their dominance.  Repetition of the new habits and beliefs over time strengthens them.  The new habit development process will require emotional labor until the new habit becomes the default way of reacting.  The personal and organizational results we obtain are a reflection of the habits we have chosen to develop.  Want better results, develop better habits.

In this MBL Minute Phil Johnson discusses a pair of true stories which illustrates how habits can be so ingrained they can even lead to tragic results before change is taken. A call to action for understanding the effects of our emotional habits in our work and personal lives.
